The 2026/27 Season Preview

We will begin our defence of the title with a home clash with Coventry on Friday, 21 August 2026 in a curtain raiser of the 2026/27 Premier League season. It's normally a tricky game against a newly promoted club on an opening weekend as they carry the momentum and spirits of a successful season into a new one in top flight of English football, which is full of promise and excitement at the beginning. However, we have a home advantage of playing in front of passionate supporters on the back of an equally successful season. We expect the boys to show what the last season's champions are made of. Let's hope that our key players will be fully refreshed from their World Cup exploits and ready to go for another long season following the Community Shield against the FA Cup holders on Sunday 15th. . Also, hopefully, all our potential new signings will be fully integrated and ready to hit the ground running following a very short pre-season.

Our opening fixtures look difficult again. The curtain raiser will be followed by a trip to Villa Park on the following weekend. Last season's corresponding fixture saw us fall to an agonising last-minute loss to the hosts, so this is likely to be another tough challenge. Our tricky first five fixtures continue with Chelsea at home, Sunderland away, and Brighton away in September, when we will embark on the Champions League and Carabao Cup journeys for the new season.

With our arch-rivals surviving a drop last season, north London derbies will be played on 5 December 2026 at the Tottenham Spurs Stadium, and on 1 May 2026 at the Emirates. Eze must be licking his lips at England's camp in the US now for the prospect of further increasing his goal tally in Arsenal colours.

Our last Premier League game will be a home clash with Brighton on 30 May 2027. It is nice to end the season at home with a lap of appreciation to conclude the long season together with the fans and the families of players and coaching staff. Obviously, the 2025/26 season was great, but it would have been even better if we had had our final home game on Sunday afternoon at the Emirates.

Let's hope the 2026/27 season will be another successful one for us. Following is the full Premier League fixture list.

2016/17 Premier League Fixtures

Premier League published the 2016/17 fixture list earlier today. Arsenal will kick off their campaign at home against Liverpool and finish the season with a home match against Everton under new coach Ronald Koeman. All the final games should be played on 21 May at the same time, but our opening game against Jurgen Klopp's side is likely to be rescheduled as TV companies will make selections later. As Friday night Premier League fixtures will be introduced next season for extended TV coverage, Saturday normal kick-offs will be even more of rarity in the 2016/17 season.

Then, we will travel to the King Power Stadium to take on the Premier League champions, Leicester City, on the following weekend. What sort of a team we will be facing remains to be seen. According to the media, a few key Leicester City players' futures are uncertain at the moment, including Jamie Vardy's. With the Champions League commitment for the first time in their history, Claudio Ranieri will be no doubt looking to expand his side as well.

The first north London derby will be held at home on 5 November (fireworks) unless we are drawn against Tottenham in the early round of the League Cup like last season. The reverse fixture on 29 April is expected to be an even feistier affair than usual as the game falls on the decisive part of the season.

Another fixture we first check when the fixture list has been published is a game around the end of February, when our annual trip to Benidorm takes place. The last season's Benidorm trip was replaced by the trip to watch the Champions League match in Barcelona, but we are hoping to go back to Benidorm in the coming season. Southampton away is always a tough fixture, but hopefully, we will get  revenge on last season's humiliating 4-0 thumping by then Ronald Koeman's side.

In addition to Everton (and obviously, Southampton), Chelsea, two Manchester clubs and Watford will all be welcoming new managers. Hopefully, Arsene Wenger will finally get his first league win over Mourinho next season. Arsenal will travel to Old Trafford on 19 November and host Manchester United on 6 May.

Premier League will also welcome three newly promoted clubs: Burnley, Middlesbrough, and Hull City. We are quite familiar with these new boys through the FA Cup ties over the last two seasons. They are expected to reinforce their squads with a financial boost given by the TV money, but we cannot see any problem against them at the moment.

We have experienced some disappointment over the last decade, but the 2016/17 season was arguably the most frustrating season. We added what looked to be a missing piece of the jigsaw in Petr Cech, following the two seasons of big name signings. We were top of the table at the beginning of 2016, after a promising 2015. Yet we fell short of winning the league again. We somehow managed to finish above Tottenham and clinched second place, but it was not really a consolation. With a £30 million-signing already under the belt, hopefully, we will see more reinforcement arriving before the season starts.

2015/16 Premier League Fixtures

2015/16 Barclay Premier League fixture list was unveiled this morning. Arsenal will host West Ham on the opening day of 8 August (subject to change, depending on TV selection). West Ham's season will be well under way by then under a new manager, Slaven Bilic, as they take part in the Europa League from the first qualifying round which kicks off on 2 July. Although we have a favourable track record against the east London side, we need to get up to speed quickly after the Charity Shield against Chelsea on Sunday 2 August.

Then, the north Londoners will make a short trip across the capital to Crystal Palace on the following weekend, followed by a home match against Liverpool.

Arsenal will finish their Premier League campaign at home against Aston Villa. Hopefully, the Gunners will be celebrating a successful season with their home crowd in the annual lap of appreciation.

The first north London derby of the season will take place on 7 November at home, second on 5 March at the White Hart Lane. We hope that Arsenal will take more points off our local rivals this time around. The 2014/15 season's just 1 point out of the the north London derbies was simply disappointing for us, Gooners.

The stand-out games are Chelsea away on 19 September, Man U at home on 3 October, Man City at home on 19 December. We play against most of our title rivals at home first, so we need to make the Emirates a fortress. These big games against title rivals are also spread out, avoiding the repeat of the 2013/14 season's runs of tough fixtures. Our penultimate game of the season is Man City away, which presents a curious resemblance to the last season's fixture list. Like last season's Man U away game in mid-May, it is most likely that this game will have a great significance in determining whether our season is a success or a failure, whatever is at stake at this time of the season.

The Premier League will welcome three new comers: Bournemouth, Watford, and Norwich City. We are glad that we have avoided facing these clubs in the opening games as newly promoted clubs are often found on a high at this stage of their campaigns, carrying the momentum from their successful previous season in the lower division. Arsenal will take on the first of these teams on 17 October at Vicarage Road.

Our annual Benidorm trip could fall on the weekend when Arsenal travel to Old Trafford. We normally choose a weekend at the end of February for this annual fixture, so this game may well become the focal point of our trip. It is a big match fitting the big occasion.

As our poor start to 2014/15 season virtually extinguished any title hopes by the end of the year, Arsenal need to get off to a good start this time around. We could be without our influential Alexis Sanchez at the beginning of the season, given his involvement in Copa America. However, in the absence of major European tournaments, hopefully most of our players will be fresh and focused for the start of their new campaign. The fact that we don't have to go through increasingly tough play-off games for the Champions League at the beginning of the next season is expected to help us significantly. We wish all the Gunners good health and every success in the new season.

The 2014/15 Premier League Fixtures

The Premier League fixture list was published on 18 June. Arsenal will kick off their 2014/15 campaign with a home match against Crystal Palace. Hopefully, it will be a lot different outcome from the last season's opening game, a shock defeat to Aston Villa. We are hoping that Arsenal will extend their unbeaten run of home games since that day into the new season. At the other end of the fixture list, it's good to end the season with the lap of appreciation in front of the home crowd for the first time in the last 5 years.

The fixture list looks better than last season. OK, everybody has to play everybody else home and away at some time of the season, but at least there is no repeat of last season's February-March fixtures, when we had to play against our title rivals in succession in addition to the two-legged the Champions League round of the last 16.

The first of those so-called big matches is a trip to Goodison Park on 23 August. The game comes between the two legs of the Champions League play-off. It is expected to be a tough game, but we need to win this to get off to a good start. Hopefully, the squad will be strong enough to cope with the busy start of the new season, which will begin a week earlier than usual due to Arsenal's involvement in the Community Shield.

North London derbies are always the first fixtures we look at in the calendar. In this season, we will face our local rivals on 27 September 2014 at the Emirates and 7 February 2015 at White Hart Lane.

The focal point of our Benidorm trip next year could be a home game against Everton as this fixture falls on the last weekend of February, which is our usual date for the annual event. Last season, the Sunderland game at home offered us an ideal party feel with a comfortable 4-1 victory, but this fixture looks a bit tricky. Having said that, it will be another story if we are in the Capital One Cup final next season, which will fall on the same weekend.

The fixtures that attracted the attraction of the media include a clash with Chelsea at the Emirates in April and Arsenal's visit to Old Trafford for the penultimate game of the season. The former will give a chance to see how the former Gunner Cesc Fabregas will be received at the Emirates, which the press are eagerly awaiting. The mid-May date with Man U is tipped as one of the possible title deciders. Let's hope Arsenal will be still in the race as late as that next season.

We welcome three newly promoted sides, which are Leicester City, Burnley, and QPR. Leicester City will make their return to England's top-flight league after a decade's absence. QPR and Burnley have more recent experiences in the Premier League, with QPR only missing one season. With QPR coming back to the Premier League and Fulham relegated, we have the same number of London derbies as last season.

With no major competitions to be held in the summer of 2015, the Premier Season season will stretch to 24 May (The FA Cup final is scheduled for the following weekend on Saturday 30 May). It's going to be a real marathon. All the more we need to manage the fitness of the players well. Hopefully, the newly signed fitness coach will make a difference in the new season.

Please see below the Arsenal FC DRAFT fixtures for season 2014-2015, but don’t build your life around these dates as we would expect there to be many changes for TV, Cup games etc. We will update our fixture list on this blog from time to time throughout the season.

The 2013/14 Fixtures

The Premier League 2013/14 season fixture lists were released this morning.

Arsenal will host Aston Villa on the opening day. The first north London derby of the campaign is as early as on 31 August this season. The only worry is that the derby comes just a couple of days after we have played the second leg of the Champions League play-off. Remember what happened a couple of seasons ago when we had the tough qualifying against Udenese and then travelled to the Old Trafford. However, we should have sufficient depth in the squad this time around, provided we have a successful transfer window.

The first ten games look winnable and there is no reason why we shouldn't get off to a good start next season as we are expected to have a settled team to start a season for the first time in recent years.

The new season will see the new boys, namely Cardiff City, Hull City, and Crystal Palace, join the top-flight English league. There used to be a kind of bad blood between Hull City and us before they were safely relegated to the Championship, but hopefully, with Phil Brown no longer as manager, Hull City are a better football club. Talking about bad blood, it is interesting to see how Stoke will change their footballing style after Tony Pulis' departure.

International breaks for the World Cup qualifiers are scheduled in September and October, hence a fewer league fixtures during these two months. In fact, September and October are not as quiet as this list indicates. If we make it through to the Champions League group stages and progress to the fourth round in the Capital One Cup competition, we will be playing five and six games in September and October, respectively.

March appears to be a tough month as we travel to White Hart Lane and Stamford Bridge before hosting Man City. However, statistically Wenger's side normally boasts a good run of form in March. So let's hope it proves to be the case again next season.

The season finishes with a trip to Norwich on 11 May. This will be the fourth consecutive season that the last game of the season is played away, which I hate. It would have been nice to have the lap of appreciation on the final day of the season. In the last season when the final home game was rescheduled for a weekday night due to Wigan's involvement in the FA Cup final, the atmosphere was just not the same. The 2013/14 Premier League season will finish earlier than last year in order to accommodate the FA Cup final after the end of the domestic league campaigns. This is a welcome move, which gives back a prestigious status that it deserves to the world's oldest surviving football competition.

Please see below the Arsenal FC DRAFT fixtures for season 2013-2014, but don’t build your life around these dates as we would expect there to be many changes for TV, Cup games etc.

The 2012/13 Fixtures

Arsenal's 2012/13 season kicks off at the Emirates against Sunderland. The following is the up-to-date fixture list as of 13 July 2012, including all the League Cup (which is apparently called the Capital One Cup this season), the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup dates.

The first six Premier-League games look tough, especially with those against Manchester City and Chelsea sandwiched by the Champions League games, but they are in the same situation. Away games at the Britania Stadium are always difficult. However, with the two major summer signings joining the rest of the squad from the beginning of the pre-season, they should have enough time to settle in and we should be able to avoid the repeat of the last season's disastrous start. For that reason, we have to sort out the RVP situation quickly. If he leaves (we think Arsenal should sell him for the right price), we have to re-invest the proceeds from his sale into a new player or two and give the team time to gel together. If we had had those deadline signings from the beginning of the pre-season, we could have challenged for the title last season.

Over the period from January to early February, when we usually suffer a drop in form, we will have the almost identical run of games as at the beginning of the season, only in a different order. If we are fighting on the all four fronts, January could prove to be a very hectic month. The whole squad needs to stay fit and sharp over this period.

The last match of the season is an away game against Newcastle, which won't be easy, but hopefully, whatever is at stake at that time (the title would be nice), it should have been decided before the last game. We certainly don't want the situation where everything hangs on this match. It is a shame that the last game is away again as I always like the end-of-the-season lap of appreciation to take place after the end of the last game. The lap of appreciation after the end of the penultimate game is not the same. This is going to be the third last game of the season away in a row.

Other dates to note are north London derbies: Saturday 17 November at home 12:45 (English time) kick-off and Saturday 2 March at the White Hart Lane (this game is highly likely to be rescheduled for the convenience of TV companies). Our annual Benidorm trip may be organised around the time of the latter match as we did earlier this year. Alternatively, if we go all the way, the Capital One Cup final on Sunday 24 February could be the focal point of our Benidorm trip next year as it was in 2011.

At the Las Mimosas bar, our usual venue, games against Manchester United are as big as north London derbies as there is rivalry between us and Man U fans. These dates are Saturday 3 November at Old Trafford and Saturday 27 April at home.

Lastly, we don't like to look too far ahead, but cannot help mentioning that the reward of going all the way to the final in the Champions League this season is playing in the Wembly Stadium. Flying into London to watch Arsenal in the Champions League final would be the highlight of the coming season for us without doubt.

Come on you, Gunners!!

Please note that we have an updated fixture list on 2012/13 fixtures update on this blog.
